Teatime Catering Favorite Venues in Washington DC Area

Being an off site catering affords Teatime the opportunity to visit and utilize many great venues in the Washington DC – Northern Virginia – Maryland area.  The metropolitan community has a surprising number of historic venues available for rental as well as just some really cool spaces.  Here are a few of this year’s suggestions, selected for their original personalities, indoor/outdoor options, ability to accommodate 100 plus guests, easy to navigate and equally easy for guest parking.



The magnificent tent at Thomas Birkby House, Leesburg VA

Thomas Birkby House located in historic Leesburg VA www.birkbyhouse.com/ is one of Teatime’s very favorites.  With a stunning tent provided April-November, the bride and groom can marry in the adjoining courtyard, enjoy a cocktail hour on the patio, and then enjoy the remainder of their reception under the tent surrounded by meticulously kept gardens.

Set in Virginia countryside, bride and groom along with guests can stay overnight in the bed and breakfast while hosting a reception and wedding ceremony next door.  The owners are laid back and staff very easy to work with, the views from every window beautiful.  I cannot think of a more peaceful setting for a countryside wedding.

Located across the street from the King Street Metro, the facility itself is impossible to miss, you can see it from miles away on the beltway.  What many people don’t realize is this is a hidden gem for a wedding reception.  Inside the memorial is a gorgeous ballroom with vaulted ceilings and marble floors and pillars.  During the event Memorial staff can take guests on tours to the rooftop of the building to view stunning views of the Potomac River including DC, Maryland as well as Virginia views.  There really is no other venue or building in the Washington DC area with such views.
