to incorporate a splash of color into the design without adding artificial food
coloring. Today’s blog post is a gallery of many of our
past ribbon wedding cakes, showcasing different colors as well as the
flowers that accompany the ribbon.
An alternative design features the ribbon vertically along the
tiers, with a bow for the cake top. The piping is a lace
beading design.
As you can see, while the abstract “squiggle” design on the piping
is very similar, adding your own unique color and cake top or flowers makes the
cake your very own.
This would be the original Ribbon Cake design. We started with an
off white butter cream frosting, and added cream colored ribbon with
beaded piping and a satin ribbon top. Something about white on white
never fails to capture the beauty of simple color palates.
And then again there is ribbon gone crazy! My bride sent me this photo from Pinterest and we made it work!
