It’s Always Teatime!

In 1983 I thought I would start a business and since I love Alice In Wonderland it made perfect sense to name it Teatime Delicacies, Inc.  What on earth that had to do with business is anyone’s guess, but I just wanted to cook.  My education was in Theater Arts, so a business in food seemed like a logical sideways move.   I have been cooking since I was five years old, studying Theater in New York City is simply  warming up.

Then there are requests to cater Tea Parties

In Lewis Carroll’s marvelous Alice In Wonderland there are multiple adventures featuring a magical cast of characters.  At one of the Mad Hatter’s tea parties the March Hare makes an observation, “It’s Always Tea Time!”  And a recurring theme of Teatime Delicacies, Inc. is born. https://www.cateringbyteatime.com Because it is indeed always Teatime, especially with our Tea Menu.  And what is the centerpiece of a Tea Menu?  Why, of course – SCONES! Scones are a British afternoon tea staple and they’re delicious served with jam and clotted cream. Not quite cake, but not really a biscuit or pastry either, scones have a unique texture that’s entirely their own.

But what else goes on the Tea Menu?

Tea Sandwiches.  Lots and lots of Tea Sandwiches.  Smoked Turkey Breast on wheat bread; Pimento Cheese on white bread; Chutney Chicken Salad on potato bread; Cucumber and Butter on, well any kind of bread you like! What else can you put on a Tea Menu? Of course there is tea, we serve a variety of herbal as well as standard Earl Grey and English Breakfast.  We also provide a Citrus Punch and iced waters.  We love to add Assorted Domestic and Imported Cheeses with Crackers and of course our infamous displays of Fresh Fruits.

Whatever your catering needs are today or in the future Teatime Delicacies, Inc. can cater your gathering.  We use this menu for events ranging from wedding receptions, office meetings, baby showers, bridal showers, to Celebrations of Life. We service the Washington DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland areas.
