Catering with Teatime Delicacies, Inc. at Sherwood Center in Fairfax City VA

Teatime Delicacies, Inc. was delighted to be back again catering a wedding reception at the Sherwood Community Center in Fairfax City, VA www.fairfaxva.gov/parksrec 
and/or www.weddingsinfairfax.com 
The center is “A Venue with Elegance and Style” and described as “a community center centrally located in the City of Fairfax.  An exceptional venue for all your social, corporate, non profit and community events. It’s a perfect setting for banquets, receptions, weddings, anniversary and holiday parties, arts and cultural events and business and training meetings…beautifully appointed rooms, state-of-the-art audio/visual facilities and a well equipped caterer’s kitchen”.

 The Main Hall can be divided into two rooms that seat over 100 including the tables and chairs as well as room for the buffet, bar, dancing and dj.  The above wedding reception featured a guest count of 85 guests.

The appetizer hour featured Assorted Domestic and Imported Cheeses and Crackers; Silver Dollar Crab Cakes w/ Roasted Red Bell Pepper Sauce, and Smoked Salmon Roulades:

 It’s not uncommon for a bride and groom to get swept away for a series of family photographs, so I always send one of my staff on a rescue mission with food and beverages as shown below:

Appetizer Platter for Bride and Groom

 I can’t tell you how grateful our couples are when they see the wait staff suddenly appear with a platter full of appetizers JUST FOR THEM!!
Washington DC has been blessed with a non sizzling summer, but some of the couple’s menu selection suggested it MIGHT be blazing hot, so they opted for our  Grilled Jamaican Jerk Chicken Skewers as one of their main entrees which is served chilled.  The menu also featured Ruth’s House Salad; Carved Steamship Round of Beef; Garlic Roasted Red Bliss Potatoes; Wild Rice Pilaf; Fresh Fruit Arrangement and Fresh Bread and Roll Basket.

The Wedding Cake featured hand made sugar flowers that were breathtaking up close:

 Hand crafted by a local Northern Virginia artist and painted with the color palate of the bride and groom.  The flavor was Lemon Butter with Fresh Raspberry Filling and Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Filling.   And of course the topper:  adorable.
