Waterfront Catering on the Potomac River!
Washington Monument |
Being a caterer in the Washington DC area can truly be an adventure. I received a recent inquiry requesting appetizers for a river boat cruise birthday party this past Saturday. How fun is that?! Boomerang Boat Tours provide 2 hour cruises that depart from the Georgetown Harbor in Washington DC allowing guests to take in the scenery as well as all the majestic monuments our city has to offer. www.ridetheboomerang.com

Heading out on the Water |
As we pull out into water traffic, the Pirate bar opens for service.
Enjoying a cocktail |
Viewing our nation’s many famous monuments and landmarks from a water view offers a unique perspective you cannot appreciate from land. The infamous Watergate Complex:

And the Lincoln Memorial:

Of course with all that sight seeing and cocktail quaffing, what about those appetizers? We needed to keep it simple as there is no kitchen on board. And it was hotter than blazes that day, 100 plus and no shade. I provided chilled Grilled Garlic Lime Chicken on Bamboo Skewers, California Sushi Rolls, Quesadilla Wedges with Salsa, and Silver Dollar Crab Cakes with Roasted Red Bell Pepper Sauce – all prepared on my portable butane burner.

And because it wouldn’t be a party catered by Teatime without some of Ruth’s signature desserts, I provided bite sized Cream Cheese Chocolate Brownies as well as our classic Apple Bavarian Torte.
It may have been a hot and steamy Saturday afternoon, but the views were breezy.
