Past weekend’s wedding took place at the Great Falls Grange, in Great Falls, VA. www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/hprs/greatfalls.htm This venue is one of Fairfax County’s historic properties that rent out for special events. The upstairs is a charming room with wooden beams and floors and high ceilings. There is also a stage at the front of the room that can be utilized for additional seating, or a perfect spot for a wedding cake. The downstairs is generally utilized for the buffet. This particular menu catered to a number of dietary restrictions. The bride was vegetarian, several guests were vegan, several were wheat intolerant. Teatime is able to accommodate most dietary requests easily. For one of our passed appetizers we served vegan/wheat free shooters of Butternut Squash and Corn Chowder. Another passed appetizer was a wild mushroom tart. For the buffet we served Ruth’s House Salad, Grilled Sesame Flank Steak on Bamboo Skewers, Chicken Marabella, (vegan) Cannelini Salad with Fresh Herbs and Vegetables, Breads and Fresh Fruits. For the wedding cake, the bride and groom had their cake topper made into 2 “water birds” as they loved how the birds skip along the tops of the lake. The flavor was a “humming bird cake” similar in texture to carrot, but actually made with bananas and pineapple with cream cheese frosting. It was DELISH!!!!! www.teatimeinc.com
