This past weekend’s wedding reception took place at The Stacey C. Sherwood Community Center www.fairfaxva.gov/parksrec and www.weddingsinfairfax.com Described as “A Venue with Elegance and Style” the Community Center is centrally located in the City of Fairfax. “An Exceptional venue for all your social, corporate, nonprofit and community events. It’s the perfect setting for banquets, receptions, weddings, anniversary and holiday parties, arts and cultural events and business and training meetings…beautifully appointed rooms, state-of-the-art audio/visual facilities and a well-equipped caterer’s kitchen”. The Main Hall, can be divided into two rooms that seat over 100 with tables and chairs including room for buffet, bar, dance floor, dj.

The room has beautiful wood floors and LED lighting. It was another stunning day autumn day in the Washington DC area with temperatures in the mid 70’s, allowing guests to spill out the large glass doors onto the brick patio that wraps around the back of the room.

Appetizers included Cheeses and Crackers display, along with passed appetizers of Silver Dollar Salmon Cakes w/ Pesto Sauce, and Quesadilla Wedges with Salsa. Main buffet menu included Grilled Indonesian Chicken on Bamboo Skewers w/ Peanut Dipping Sauce, Ruth’s House Salad, Garlic Roasted Red Bliss Potatoes, Fresh Fruit Arrangement and Carved Steamship Round of Beef. The Wedding Cake shown at top of this page was alternating layers of Red Velvet Cake w/ Cream Cheese Filling, and Yellow Butter Cake w/ Fresh Strawberry Filling. As the couple danced late into the night, there were a number of adorable children ready for their OWN photo op!!
I personal love the energy and engaging expressions against the backdrop of two “older” young men who are glued to their electronic devises! Another successful catered wedding reception by Teatime Delicacies, Inc. Congratulations to both Madel and John Paul!!
