Catering at St. Francis Hall in Washington DC

St. Francis Hall is a charming event space adjacent to the beautiful Franciscan Monastery in the quiet Brookland neighborhood of northeast Washington, DC.  Built in 1931 and featuring romantic Renaissance architecture, St. Francis offers a rare combination of classic beauty and modern Amenities.  The Hall can accommodate 250 people for weddings, banquets, and meetings.

Ample, free parking, the grounds provide a beautiful backdrop for photographs, and the venue also has a great catering kitchen (we all know how important that is for Ruth!!)

Teatime’s event last was a light reception following a local church service and featured a buffet style menu that could be accessed by 4 different points.  A light afternoon reception with Fresh Fruits, Fresh Vegetables, Assorted Cheeses and Crackers, Chilled Shrimp, Hot Crab and Artichoke Dip, Grilled Garlic Lime Chicken on Skewers, and Assorted Dessert Bites including New York Style Cheesecake w/ Blackberry Sauce, Apple Bavarian Torte, and Cream Cheese Brownies.

The wooden floors are spectacular, they refinish them with regularity.  There is a stage for business presentations, but we have set up the D.J.’s there for wedding receptions and dancing up front.  There is a large outside covered porch that you can set bistro tables, and on a warm spring evening it is delightful to enjoy drinks outside.

We are sometimes skeptical about events downtown if for no other reason:  parking!  There are now two free parking lots adjacent to the venue, making this a true hidden gem in Washington DC for Catering, Caterers and guests alike!
