Catering at Historic Blenheim House, Fairfax VA
View from back porch of Visitor’s Center looking at Mansion |
Located in Fairfax City, VA, Historic Blenheim House is a 1859 brick house designed in Greek Revival Style. During the American Civil War, Union soldiers were often encamped on the grounds surrounding the house and utilized it as part of a reserved hospital system. As a result more than115 of the soldiers inscribed words and pictures on the first and second floor walls as well as the attic of the house.
Recreation of Mansion Attic in Visitor’s Center |
A visitor’s center has recently been built on the property with a museum and a recreation of the attic walls. There is also a lovely space available for parties, whether it be wedding reception, anniversary party, business gathering as we catered last night for a local law firm and customer appreciation event. There are few venues in the heart of Fairfax County Virginia that offer such amenities.
Grand Room for entertaining |
With beautiful hard wood floors, and a covered deck that runs along the side of the building, the property can also be tented to accommodate much large crowds. Our event was 80 guests and there was ample room to mingle.
Bow Tie Pasta |
The menu included Chilled Jumbo Shrimp, Grilled Garlic Lime Chicken, Grilled Sesame Flank Steak, Sweet and Sour Meatballs, and Bow Tie Pasta Salad with Sun Dried Tomato-Feta Cheese-Fresh Dill-Snow Peas.
Silver Dollar Crab Cakes |
Passed Appetizers included Stuffed Mushrooms with Spicy Sausage Filling and Herb Cheese Filling. Also passed were Silver Dollar Crab Cakes w/ Roasted Red Bell Pepper Sauce.
It was a balmy spring night in Northern Virginia, temperatures in the high 70’s, making a stroll around the property a must see! www.fairfax.va.gov/MuseumVC/CivilWarInterpretiveCenter.asp
