Catering at Birkby House |
Catering By Teatime recently catered a wedding reception at the lovely Birkby House in the historic downtown Leesburg VA www.birkbyhouse.com
As described on their website home page:
Located in historic downtown Leesburg, Virginia.
The
historic setting of Birkby House provides a picturesque backdrop for your
special day. Built circa 1770, Thomas Birkby’s estate includes the Main
House, the Carriage House, the meticulously landscaped gardens, and the
idyllic white gazebo.

The bride and groom were married in the courtyard followed by a cocktail hour that featured a signature drink “Moscow Mule”. The catering staff served appetizers featuring Assorted Domestic and Imported Cheeses with Crackers; Baked Artichoke-Parmesan-Spinach Dip with French bread; Assorted Bruschetta; and one of our most popular: Miniature Chicken and Waffles

After the appetizers were served, the wedding guests gathered in the tent for a catered buffet menu that featured Grilled Garlic Lime Chicken on Bamboo Skewers; Ruth’s House Salad with Mixed Greens-Tomato-Scallion-Pecans-Dried Cranberry-Gorgonzola Cheese in a Balsamic Vinaigrette; Carved Steamship Round of Beef; Garlic Roasted Red Bliss Potatoes; Linguine with Sun Dried Tomato-Cilantro and Parmesan; Fresh Bread and Rolls; and a Fresh Fruit Arrangement with Seasonal Fruits

The grounds at the Birkby House are lovely year round but especially this afternoon and evening after surviving what feels like one of the longest and hottest summers on record for the Washington DC and Northern Virginia community.

The low key bride and groom had only one request for this caterer: the wedding cake. Ruth needed to bring her A game and create the famous all Chocolate Fudge Cake with Raspberry Filling decorated with Chocolate Ganache and Dark Chocolate Curls. The design was our three tier square off-set and it was a stunner. First glance from bride and groom?
Yeah! That’s the One. |

I love catering large and smaller weddings equally, but a wedding for 70 guests on a beautiful fall evening seems just about perfect. Contact Teatime for your next celebration! www.cateringbyteatime.com
