Saturday night Teatime Delicacies, Inc. discovers an additional wedding reception venue here in Northern Virginia that allows outside catering and caterers.  And what a sweet deal!  The Burke Volunteer Fire and Rescue Dept. www.bvfrd.org  Located at 9501 Old Burke Lake Road in Burke VA, the BVFRD offers a large banquet hall for all your special events.  All proceeds from your rental help support the operations of the fire fighters and emergency medical personnel that serve the Burke community.  
The hall accommodates up to 250 persons  (a truly hidden gem) and includes kitchen facilities (always a PLUS for the caterer).

 The hall is approximately 3750 square feet and includes a built in stage at one end.  High ceilings and huge windows at both ends create a light and open feel to the space. 
We set the head table up at one end of the space, with the DJ and the bar on the opposite side.

 The bar served a variety of beer and wine along with soft drinks and iced tea.  During the cocktail hour guests enjoyed passed appetizers of Gazpacho Shooters along with a table display of Assorted Cheeses and Crackers and a Fresh Vegetable Basket with Hollowed Cabbage filled with Red Bell Pepper Hummus. Both the Gazpacho and the Vegetable Basket/Hummus were vegan friendly.

 The theme throughout the wedding reception was Disney’s Beauty and The Beast, as the family were huge Disney fans.  There was ample room for dancing as the evening kicked into high gear.

 And of course there was one of Ruth’s fabulous wedding cakes.  Three tiers with a light purple butter cream icing, alternating flavors of Yellow Butter with a Fresh Raspberry Filling and Chocolate Fudge Cake with a Fresh Raspberry Filling.  And of course:  Beauty and the Beast!

Pricing for this venue is incredible!  For a weekend it is $1,000 for 7 hours plus $150 for each additional hour.  I do not know of any venue here in the Washington DC and Northern Virginia area that can offer such a venue, including ample parking, in this price range. 
It was a great party and a fabulous venue.  I hope to cater there again very soon.
