Mother Nature needs to have her meds re-evaluated.  I do not recall loopier weather than this past spring’s temperature and precip in the Northern Virginia Washington DC area.  I believe we had 43 minutes of spring and it went straight to inferno summer.  Last weekend we catered a wedding reception in Catharpin VA (just outside Manassas VA) on what a bride and groom could consider perfect wedding weather.  Late May, should be temperate and lovely.  Instead, it was soggy and frigid.  That didn’t stop this little engine, Catering By Teatime www.cateringbyteatime.com

What can we pour for you?

 Bartender Kim set up the bar in the “pool house” with assorted wines and beers.  During the cocktail hour we served Fresh Fruit K-bobs, Assorted Domestic and Imported Cheeses and Crackers, and a Fresh Vegetable Basket with Hollowed Cabbage Filled with Dip.
One of our most popular catering menus is our “Heavy Appetizer” menu.  It works very well in a scenario where you might have limited table seating, and it is virtually utensil free.  A client favorite has always been our Grilled Indonesian Chicken on Bamboo Skewers with Peanut Dipping Sauce, also known as “Chick ‘O Stick” loving prepared by married staff couple extraordinaire Gio and Anita.

Other menu items included Stuffed Mushrooms with Herb Cheese and/or Spicy Sausage Filling; California and Vegetarian Sushi Rolls; Miniature Chicken and Waffles; Miniature Pigs in a Blanket; Chilled Shrimp Cocktail; Silver Dollar Crab Cakes with Roasted Red Bell Pepper Sauce; Smoked Salmon Roulades; and of course Ruth’s Wedding Cake – a three tier Satin Ribbon Cake with a Square Off-Set Design.

Mother Nature briefly chuckled and gave us 45 seconds of spring to enjoy the family garden adjacent to the tent…
