I have discovered a beautiful wedding reception venue located in Alexandria VA on the banks of the Potomac River.  River Farm served as the head quarter of the American Horticultural Society (AHS) www.ahs.org

Situated on twenty five acres of landscaped lawns and gardens, it is located at 7931 East Boulevard Dr, Alexandria VA 22308, just a skip down the road from the home of George Washington, Mount Vernon.  Walking through the venue and surrounding grounds on a chilly yet sunny January morning, the trees and gardens may be bare, but it doesn’t take a lot of imagination to determine how stunning the grounds will look when in full bloom.  The top photo is the main house and includes several multi use rooms as well as a ballroom for dancing or a smaller reception.  The second photo shows the courtyard with a patio that can accommodate a tent if the guest count exceeds 80.

The manor style house, formal and informal gardens, and sprawling lawns overlooking the Potomac River in Virginia, offer endless options for your creativity in planning an unforgettable event.  There are quite simply, very few venues with water views in the Washington DC metropolitan area, and this one is conveniently located less than 10 minutes from Old Town Alexandria.
There is a caterers kitchen, and you ALL know how I feel about having a kitchen on the premises, so this earns the venue bonus points!!
