Catering A 40th Wedding Annivsersary Party

Lemon Butter Cake with Raspberry Filling

Saturday night Teatime catered a 40th wedding anniversary in Fairfax VA.  Daughter’s Angela and Sara provided me with an original photo of the their parents cutting their wedding cake, and I tried to replicate the design, although the powder blue tux was optional!  The bride and groom, or rather the mom and dad, were over the moon!

It was a beautiful spring day, for a change, in Northern Virginia, with temperatures in the high 60’s low 70’s, sunny and not a drop of rain for a change.  After a renewal of vows in the back yard, the guests noshed on cheeses and crackers, silver dollar crab cakes, zucchini pancakes with brie, and baked artichoke, Parmesan and spinach dip.

Anatomy of Chick ‘O Stick
We love our grilled chicken on skewers, whether it’s grilled Indonesian with peanut dipping sauce; grilled garlic-lime; or Jamaican Jerk  – the presentation is the same.
1. The Chicken:

Hot off the grill – Marinated Boneless Chicken Breast

2. First layer of the sliced and skewered chicken:

3.Additional layers of sliced and skewered chicken until optimal porcupine achievement.

Chick O’Stick!  Most popular Teatime menu item ordered.

4. Do not lean into skewers.

Sometimes it’s the smaller receptions that are so memorable.  40 years of marriage is truly something to celebrate.
