As October winds down, Teatime Delicacies, Inc. caters several non wedding reception events for a change of pace. Third year in a row we are catering an annual Judicial gathering at the Dolly Madison House, in Washington DC. Presented on what has to be the world’s largest dining room table is an assorted display of heavy appetizers.

One of Ruth MacBean’s signature creations, Sugar Spiced Apple Wood Smoked Salmon Fillet, served on water crackers. We create our own spice rub, and smoke it ourselves with branches of our own apple trees.

We were delighted to discover PURPLE cauliflower to add to our Fresh Vegetable Basket with Hollowed Cabbage Filled with Dip. I have never come across this vegetable before, and it was a stunning addition.

Other menu items included Baked Brie in Puff Pastry; Grilled Garlic Lime Chicken on Bamboo Skewers; and an Assortment of Bite Sized Brownie and Cookies.
Our Bar served a selection of top shelf beers as well as a Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay.
Situated next to the White House in Washington DC, it made for a memorable and festive party.

Located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria VA on Prince Street, the Athenaeum is by day a local art gallery, by night an unusual rental venue. The walls of the gallery feature an ever changing display of local and regional art, here we have our bar set up in the back of the first floor.
Guests can mingle, noshing on our heavy appetizer menu which is utensil free and works very well in a venue where there is limited seating.
Our Anti Pasto Display features assorted Imported Salamis, Fresh Mozzarella, Hard Boiled Eggs, Olives, Marinated Red Bell Peppers and Artichokes.

One of the really cool features of this venue is the small bricked in patio behind the building. On a warm night (it was raining OUR night) it is simply delightful to step outside and enjoy the night air, on for a day event you could set up a second bar and have cocktails outside. A wedding reception we did last year in this venue did exactly that. Ceremony upstairs, guests migrated downstairs and outside for the cocktail hour while my staff flipped the room upstairs, then guests came back inside for the remainder of the wedding reception.
That would be the end of October 2013! Fantastic month for Teatime Delicacies, Inc.
