Catering with Teatime at Sunset Crest Manor
Saturday night’s wedding reception catered by Teatime Delicacies, Inc. featured this stunning sunset at the aptly named Sunset Crest Manor in Chantilly VA www.sunsetcrestmanor.com
This beautiful venue sits on a private estate on the western part of Loudoun County VA. Weather was a bit temperamental during the cocktail hour, but that same weather was responsible for the sunset!
While the venue typically can accommodate a wedding ceremony, this bride and groom were married off site, and the wedding reception started with a cocktail hour on the outside stone patio.
The bar served a variety of wines and beer, we also served a signature drink in Mason jars provided by bride and groom.
“Firefly” was lemonade and Sweet Ice Tea Vodka, served with lemon wheel. An alcoholic Arnold Palmer. VERY easy to drink!
Guests could pick up their customized Mason jar at the appetizer display. We served a Fresh Fruit Arrangement with Seasonal Fruits: Cantaloupe, Honey Dew Melon, Watermelon, Papaya, and Strawberries.
The appetizer table also featured Assorted Domestic and Imported Cheeses and Crackers. Wedges of Brie with a Cranberry-Walnut-Raspberry Topping, Smoked Gouda, Marble Cheddar, Sharp Cheddar, and a Fresh Goat Cheese with a Blueberry Coating.
The guests were then invited into the main dining room for a buffet style menu.
The inside features a beautiful built in bar along one wall overlooking the main floor. We had a guest count of 110 which easily allowed for seating on one level – the buffet – and a large portion of the floor for dancing.
The bride provided customized menu cards for each place setting.
The menu featured Ruth ‘s House Salad, Grilled Indonesian Chicken on Bamboo Skewers, Carved Steamship Round of Beef, Linguine with Sun Dried Tomato-Cilantro-Parmesan, and a Capri Salad:
Capri Salad featuring Sliced Roma Tomatoes, Fresh Mozzarella and Basil drizzled with Olive Oil, Kosher Salt and Cracked Pepper.
The bride wanted me to recreate a favorite cake recipe she has held onto for years: Sweet Potato Cake. I played around with the recipe to make it a Teatime Wedding Cake, adding sour cream, brown sugar, butter and fresh nutmeg. It was a huge success.
The bride even provide a framed description of “Southern Sweet Potato Cake” beside the wedding cake.
Another wonderful wedding reception in the Washington DC metropolitan area, many thanks to the weather gods for making our job easier!
Bon Appetit, and congratulations!
