This past weekend we were delighted to cater a wedding reception at the North Hall at Eastern Market on Capitol Hill in Washington DC. www.easternmarket-dc.org What a cool venue!! Located in the heart of the historic Capitol Hill neighborhood, Eastern Market is DC’s destination for fresh food, community events, and on weekends, local farm-fresh produce and handmade arts and crafts.
For decades historic Eastern Market’s North Hall has been a premiere destination on Capitol Hill for receptions, fundraisers, community events, weddings, meetings and more.

The North Hall was newly renovated in 2009 as part of Eastern Market’s $22 million restoration by the District of Columbia Government. It has 4,000 square feet of event space, historical ambiance with vaulted ceilings, dramatic arched windows and a beautiful hardwood movable dance floor.

On a beautiful late summer afternoon guests arrived to live music and cocktails served by Glen our fabulous bartender.

We served from our Heavy Appetizer menu featuring Gazpacho Shooters, Assorted Bruschetta, Zucchini Pancakes with Melted Brie, Baked Artichoke-Parmesan-Spinach Dip, Grilled Indonesian Chicken on Bamboo Skewers, Grilled Sesame Flank Steak on Bamboo Skewers, Assorted Fresh Fruit Arrangement, Assorted Domestic and Imported Cheeses and Crackers, Fresh Vegetable Basket with Hollowed Cabbage Filled With Dip, and Silver Dollar Crab Cakes with Roasted Red Bell Pepper Sauce.
Bonus Appetizer created by the caterer and premiering at the reception were flat breads topped with Caramelized Onion – Fig and Gorgonzola. It rocked.

Guests partied hard and danced the night away. The wedding cake, one of Ruth’s special creations, was a three tier brownie wedding cake. No cutting necessary – guests could just stroll by and pick off a piece!
